Had my girl scanned & the vet said she had at least 6 pups as some could be hiding?

She only has 2 1/2 weeks left - is it quite usuall to have more pups than is shown on the scan?

I hope she has no more than 6  as it is her first litter & I dont want them to be too much work for her.

She is a staffie by the way.

I was told I had 3 and one of them was dead.  She had 9.  I am sure you will some telling you that scans are not for head counts although that was my reason for having one done and wont be bothering again.

Some times they tell you 6, but you only end up with 4, apparently the picture bounces back sometimes telling you there are more or less than you have been told.

It's really just to confirm pregnancy and that all is well.

Not much longer now and you'll know for sure ;-)

I dont want more than 6 to be honest!

She was only scanned as she had a discharge, but the vet said he would try to do a head count.

Oh well not long to wait to find out - also if they are boys or girls & what colours they will be!

I am more exited than I was in my pregnancy's!! - Although I did know the sex, colour & that I only had 1 - lol
