Hi, I'm looking for a breeding partner for my ridgeback. She's a beutiful dog and was found in a rescue home so her history is unclear. She's black and looks as though she is crossed with a labrador. Do you know of ant potential partners or where I could find one? Many breeders are reluctant to breed as she is not a pure breed, but she has great genes and the ridgeback is strong in her features. I would really like to breed her with a close breed or pure breed.
There are lots of dogs just like her in rescues as you have found out seen as she is a rescue dog, As she has a unclear history it could be a potential disaster waiting. The puppies temprements will be unknown and because you are unsure of the other breeding in her no one will be able to predict what the puppies temprements will be like or how big they will grow or what health problems could occur. Please dont breed her if you want to breed her because you want another dog try getting a rescue dog.

Hello guest
I don't have a problem with cross bred dogs. My first dog was a Heinz57 and he was a lovely dog - very special. I know a lot of Ridgeback people but I don't know anyone who'd consider using their dog with yours. You are right about breeders reluctance. I hope you have homes lined up already for your potential puppies.

Guest If your girl is a Rescue then why in Gods name is she not spayed or you have papers to say she may not be bred from???????? etc. And also if her History is unclear how the hell can you possibly say she has good genes.
i wouldnt let this get to you crestie queen,it could be another troll post and feeding a troll is a bad idea as theyl always come back for more! :( sorry quest if you are genuine but ide be surprized as no rescue would rehome without spaying unless she was a puppy wen bought! if thats tha case then ur breaking terms of contract!
if you dont know her background i wouldnt recomend breeding from her,i always thought that it was routine that any dog you got from a rescue was spayed or nueterd.i used to work in 1 and we would never rehome an animal without nuetering unless its a puppy!if it was a puppy you had to sighn papers to say you would have puppy spayed or nueterd wen got 2 rite age!were did you get her from?

Remember this tommielfc?
because of all the bad posts over the last couple of days suposidly by kids do you think there should be a visitors forum? as its free to join anyway,so any 1 seeking advise surley if they was genuine they would not mind registering! do we need a visitors forum YES OR NO?
personally i think its more trouble than its worth, coz people know they can write and upset who they want as they cant be banned!
And the replies your post got of how annoying it is when members ask guests questions that they cant obviously reply to??? Please just let it go :)
