It's certainly a good food, though there's no perfect food that suits every single dog. If you're thinking of changing his diet, remember to do it gradually, over a period of 10-14 days.

Our (almost) 4 month old loves Burns, he's just onto the Canine extra now after being weaned onto the Mini Bites, I think he prefers the bigger kibbles now as they have a bit more crunch! If you order direct from Burns they are usually very quick and they have sent us lots of money off coupons to use on their food and treats which was nice of them :)
Edited to add that it depends on the breed as to whether your pup needs to be on the Mini bites or the Canine extra, if you phone the Burns advice line they will be happy to help you.

I have 5 adult cockers on Burns and weaned 11 pups on Burns mini-bites at Christmas.  This was the first time we had used the mini-bites and I was very impressed with the results, lovely plump puppies and no upset tummies at all.

It's not suitable for all dogs, but it's doing my lot great!

One of my girls that was slightly overweight after her litter, I put on High Oats, she's lost weight!  My 4 month old pup is doing well, so I'll stick to it.

Hi sharonM, thats good to hear about plump puppies on burns as I feed my adult staff burns and can't fault it although she is very lean and muscular.  I wondered how a pup would fare on it as I'd hope to feed the next one burns from the start but didn't want a skinny pup at the beginning when the pup is growing rapidly.  I didn't want to go down the pedigree route with the next one as it took me quite a while to discover burns so its really positive to hear that someone had had chubby pups using it.
