Topic Dog Boards / Health / Allergy to Stainless Steel??
- By crustyroll [gb] Date 26.03.05 20:11 UTC
My lab has follucilits on her chin and I've now noticed that her lips are slightly swollen as if the infection has spread.  I've taken her back to the vet and she is now on her third course of antibiotics.  The vet did examine some pus under
the microscope to check for mites and this was clear.  Either the infection was never completely clear and has come back, is a bad case of juvenille acne, or an allergy to something that only her muzzle comes into contact with.  This has lead the vet to think she maybe reacting to her dish which is stainless steel?  Has anyone else heard of this?  He did say it is a small thing to change and that it may not be it at all but if we eliminate this it could make it easier to find out why it's not clearing.

Any advice would be grateful.

Nothing to loose by giving it a go, well only a stainless steel bowl :) I would try a pottery one as plastic can bring problems too.
