If progeny not eligible for registration endorsement is used, can new owners apply for it to be lifted?  I want to use precautions, but would be happy for new owners to breed providing they are responsible  and doing necessary health checks.  I feel if they are serious in choosing to breed then they also would appreciate why I put endorsement on.

Puppy owners can apply to the breeder to have endorsements lifted :)

They would have to contact you to ask for the endorsements to be lifted.

Just make sure that the new owners have signed a contract in front of an independent witness in which they acknowledge that there are endorsements and that they understand them. This is crucial. The KC will sometimes not uphold a purely verbal agreement.

In fact when you get your puppy registratuions there is always a note from the Kennel club to this effect asking that you get a signature (doesn't ask for witnesses, but not a bad idea) to show they know of the endorsements.  Keep a signed copy for yourself and give them one.

I have only had one pup where someone was transporting the pup for me, and haven't got the signature, which does worry me.  In futures I must remeber that I get a signed contract before the pup leaves.  I did send a contract for signature with pup and since but never got one back, even though they said they received it.  Decided to not make an issue of it, but woudl never put myself in that position again.  Fortunately some 4 years later there hasn't been an Issue over it.

Yes, I read about the contract rule in the KC yearbook.  Just another query - as I haven't yet decided which puppy I'll be keeping, the endorsement will also be on my own puppy, so will I have to get it lifted prior to (if) breeding.  I presume I will otherwise I would have a problem registering.

Yes, you'll just have to write to the KC and say you want the endorsements lifted.
:)
