Hello

We have a 3 year old dally. Everybody he meets tells us that we should show him as he is a very good specimen, including those who show dallys themselves! How do we go about starting to show him? What does it all involve.

As long as your dog is KC registered you can show him.I suggest you phone the kennel club and find a local ring craft class where you can learn how to show your dog. Also if you go to www.prodogs.co.uk you will find a list of all open and champ shows. You must obtain a schedule for a show(by phoning the secretary usually) and enter in advance.
It would also be helpfull if you could go along to a couple of shows to see what goes on.
Any more questions please register...its free...and ask away

If you go onto the dalmatian telegraph, North of england dalmatian club or British dalmatian club they have a list of all the open and championship shows and also a list of a few general opens.  If you ask the KC they will send you a list of opens in your area and also ringcraft classes.  As Archer says it might be useful to go along to a few shows prior to the big one to see what goes on or you could do  what I did which is go to your first show on the day you start showing.  :)  You will defianately need some ringcraft lessons though. The dalmatian crowd are in general a friendly bunch.
