Topic Dog Boards / Health / Lump

Hi, I was brushing Ralph's teeth this morning and noticed a baked bean sized lump under his muzzle. He doesn't mind if I touch it and it jiggles about a little bit. He is a 5 month old Labrador.
I am going to take him the vet tomorrow but has anyone experienced this with their dog? What was it?
Thanks
Lisa

Could be a cyst. If it doesn't hurt him and it moves freely over the skin it is nothing to worry about. I would take him to vets to get it checked to put your mind at rest and to be on the safe side, but try not to worry. (I know, easier said than done:-))

Let us know how it goes.

Copper had a lump like this on his head (pea sized).  The vet said to ignore it but it got bigger and I thought it had changed colour.  I insisted it was removed cos I was worried (although vet still thought not necessary).  It was just a wee cyst in the end but I was happier knowing what it was.  And even happier when the insurance paid for the treatment :)  I'm sure your dog's will be the same but if you're worried, get it seen to.  If he doesn't mind you touching it then it's probably just a cyst.
