I have just reported someone for advertising a litter whose dam is a supposedly "very rare" curly coated rottweiler, I got an email from the "breeder" telling me that a curly coat is a sign of pure bloodlines and I know absolutely nothing about the breed!
Have I been living on another planet for a very long time and missed something!

Now which planet is the "greeder-breeder" from ????? Maybe on Planet Poundsigns, it IS the sign of pure bloodlines - on Planet Earth that sort of "bumph" seems to me more like the sign of pure greed!!

oh god a rotty with a bad perm lol

I was chatting to someone who had been told a white chest is the only sign
of a well bred rottweiler :-(

I just think it's so sad who these little mites will end up with or on the other hand what poor soul is going to end up with a really dodgy looking rott with scary health problems. The scary thing was that on the email she send me back was really abusive and I was told that the fact I thought a curly coat was undesirable showed how little I knew about the breed and that her bitch and her other litters were all show dogs from fantastic bloodlines! I'm no expert on rotties apart from I have one and did a fair bit of research before deciding to get one and have never seen one with a curly coat at any show I've attented.
Maybe she's a bit dim and someones given her a standard poodle with dirty marks and she thinks its a rott!

I've seen a long coated Rottie but never a curly coated

Perhaps you should ask her about the blood lines then and see what she comes up with?

Maybe you should read out the breed standard, especially the bit describing coat :(

I've seen rotties with thick coats that go wavey (these are pure rotties, bad coats though, I assume from throwbacks) but never heard of curly coats.
On the idea of white, I recently found out biscuit in sammys is very important and must be introduced into lines reculary to keep the white....

Ive also seen long coated Rotties, never seen a curly coated one though, unless she's been out with the curling irons, I have noooo idea! :)

Thats right!
White bred to white bred to white after so many generations produces a dull coat. Every few generations a biscuit dog should be introduced to maintain the beautiful silver tips that Sams are so well known for ;)
