I have a litter of flatcoat puppy, 1 week old. They are the picture of health except that 2 of them have developed small scabs (1 each) on the back area.
I seem to remember having this many years ago with a golden retriever litter, and think it was something to do with the dam's milk.
Can anyone enlighten me?

I posted the same question when this happened to a litter of mine. It turned out to be a sort of cradlecap that just ran its course and had completely gone by the age of 4 weeks. Initially it got worse then dried up then went. Puppies were not worried by it at all and they were left with no bald patches. hope this helps, If you type in scabby puppies on a search you can see the (mostly) helpful comments I received to my enquiry.
