clever seller or stupid buyer?
- By kayc [gb] Date 15.03.05 10:44 UTC
Very clever seller, and to the person who does not read small print, they deserve all they get. The bid is already at £510.00. Very sneaky though.

I would go for the later ;-) seeing as the particulars are free from the link :-)

I would say the latter too.  What you are bidding for makes perfect sense and could not be more clear from the description.

I know, the buyer must be really STOOPID to bid that much and not have even read the ad! There is also someone else bidding this one up, looking at their feedback, they have private feedback (didn't know you could, why would you unless you had something to hide?) and have had 25 bid retractions in the last 6 months! Very dodgy! Someones going to learn a very expensive lesson!

Not sure it would be enforceable anyway...?

I can't believe people get away with that.  It doesn't take much reading to see what you're actually bidding for.
- By Moonmaiden Date 15.03.05 12:35 UTC
The highest bidder is the seller who has done the bid so that no one pays for the information One silly person has left a bid upto £500 so the buyer has bid higher so that no money will be requested !

They person who left the auto bid must be thick !

How do you know this is the seller?

If they were just doing it for advertising why wouldn't they make it a buy it now price of £1 or something to cover costs.  Won't they have to pay selling commission on the amount once the auction ends?
- By husky [in] Date 15.03.05 13:13 UTC
Why do you think the seller and highest bidder are the same, they have different ID's and accounts? How can you tell they are the same person using different accounts?
- By husky [in] Date 15.03.05 13:42 UTC
Going up again, new bidder!
- By Charanda [de] Date 15.03.05 13:51 UTC
It actually says:  Please Note - You are bidding for a copy of the sale particulars only!!

Some people obviously don't read the whole details and more fool them!!!

That's weird - I looked at this earlier and Moonmaiden was right, the seller and the highest bidder were the same, now the auction has ended and I'm sure the seller has a different name (thought it was 'collectablesshop' or something).

just looked at this 2 the winner came out at £550 but if the read the description they would know they have just purchesed some very expensive sale paticulars which you can obtain for free from the auctioner if they read it properly i hope it is just the seller trying to advertise and not a real bidder who thinks hes got a bargain for some land in devon to develop!!!!
