Hello - My four year old chocolate lab has a blocked tear duct, he has been seen by the vet who suggested bathing it.  However it is getting bigger - is that ok?  Will it burst or just clear in the end?

Any suggestions welcome - thanks.

Please make sure that you get this cleared up. If need be get a general anaesthetic and a full clear out of the tear duct. My bitch has had a blocked tear duct all of her life. The vet didnt want to give her a general for something that wasnt affecting her quality of life. Only now she has nasal cancer. I have no proof that the 2 are linked but the cancer is on the same side as the blocked duct! It now looks like I will lose my very lovely girl and I will always regret not pushing to have it sorted out. It seemed like such a minor problem, but has it led to this cancer? I will never know. Please learn from my lesson. I would not wish this pain on anyone.
