Hi..I have a 9 year old boxer dog who is very healthy and I have been trying to find out how I go about mating him..The reason is I want one of his puppies..He has champion bloodline and is one of the best boxer dogs I have ever known...any info would be greatfull.I can send pictures too...Email me...Cheers

Apart from the fact he would need to pass health tests before using him he is far too old for a first mating.

I suggest you read the first post on the breeding board about using a pet dog at stud.

As archer has pointed out you have left it rather late, as he may not know what to do even if he got the opportunity.

He would need to first have his Hips X-rayed and plates sent off for scoring.  He would also have to be heart tested by a specialist cardiologist, and nay murmer graded, with grade 0 or 1 only acceptable for breeding.

I think your best bet, as you are so pleased with him is to go back to his breeder or the breeder of his sire, and get a related one.  they will have the knowledge to have continued the good work evident in your boy.

The other thing is bitch breeders will be looking for the best dog to complement their bitch, and they will be doing this by watching the males in the show ring and comparing them, and their offspring.  Unless your boy is shown no=one will know of him or be able to assess his qualities against his rivals.
