First of all i apologise if this is in the wrong section. :)

I have a CKCS and have been doing some research into his pedigree. I have found that both his Dam and Sire had the same father - making his parents half brother and sister. Is it usual to breed dogs that are related to eachother? I would like to show my dog and although did some research before i got him now realise how little i actually know about pedigrees etc. :)

I think, correct me of I'm wrong, but this is what is termed line-breeding, that is breeding closer relatives in order to fix a certail trait or characteristic. It is perfectly acceptable to do this, as long as somwhere along the line, new blood is introduced to 'freshen' the gene pool.
