- By Enfielrotts [eu] Date 10.03.05 17:07 UTC
OMG no I have not but that must have been very freaky!  Where was this B&B, I will keep clear.  Maybe you could do some research to see if anyone else has reported this.....I feel an episode of most haunted coming on! :)

Ive had a few experiences. I wouldnt say they were hauntings or anything, more probably got cought in an energy field or a cold spot where there was water beneath the building.
But, when it comes to the shadows in the spot my dogs used to sit, i get a bit freaked out lol.

I dont know if you would call this a ghostly experience, but i am a regular user of the ouji board.

I mostly do it with my friend,Tracy,at first i was a bit skeptical and thought that she was moving the indicator around the board,so once when we were talking to someone we had to stop so she could go the loo, when she had left the room i kept my finger on the indicator and said if you are for real, when tracy gets back move to yes, well as soon as she got back and put her finger back on it,it flew to YES!! I've also spoken to "spirits" and asked them questions that the other person could not possibly know the answer to.
I know there alot of skeptics out there,i thought it was a load of hogwash before i actually tried it,we have spoken to different people for hours, some good and some very, very bad, which is when we usually stop!!
I know someone that spent a short time in the loony bin because of what happened when she used a ouji board :(
My sister used to laugh, until she tried it,the indicator moved around the board as slow as a snail(it's usually very quick) When i asked why it was moving so slow, they said theyr'e getting bad, negative energy from my sister because she didnt truly believe,it really, really freaked her out,she never did it again, but she never laughed about again either ;)
Alot of people use the ouji as a joke and dont really believe in it,those are the ones it DOES NOT work for!

I hope people dont think i'm crazy :p this is something i have done for alot of years and have alot of experience with.

I wont go on too much more, dont want to scare anyone away :D

I have spoken to hundreds of entities over the years,i love it :D Lets just say, i am no longer a skeptic when it comes to the other side :)

One thing that really freaks me out is my cat, sometimes she sits at the exact same spot looking up at the same corner of the ceiling and starts wailing and hissing, there is nothing there, but it really scares me when she does it.They say animals can sense spirits

Hi Rose,

I've heard many experiences of the ouji board and am not sceptical about it all - quite the opposite it scares the living daylights out of me

As a youngster (about 12-14) I tried it with my sister and cousin - none of us believed in it and the gadget to place our fingers on was missing so we'd read to use a small glass instead.  We tried it, laughing at the time, for a while and nothing happened so decided it was twaddle and put it away.  Next morning the glass we'd been using hurtled off the cupboard shelf at speed and smashed on the floor    That was me convinced enough to give it a wide berth!   Much later (years on) we confessed to our Mum we'd tried it and she admitted doing the same as a youngster too :O   Turns out she and friends were asking predictions on their future husbands :P Mum was *told* she'd marry someone with the initials J.E.C. - she'd never met anyone of those initials, not even the 1st and last ones.  Anyway, almost 10 years later she met my dad and yes, those were his initials - they were deliriously happy throughout their married lives but she NEVER went near a ouija board again!   Teri :P

When i was 8 (Im 28 now) we had a ghost in our house. It was me that let everyone know, but obviously nobody believed me as i was only 8. I used to play in my bedroom and things used to fall off the shelves at first on their own. Then my toys would be in different places from where i put them. One day ( i cant remember this, my mum told me) I came downstairs one day crying and saying my "My Little Ponies" are flying across the room. THe house was always cold, cold enough to see the vapour from your breath, even with the heating on. My brother woke up one morning to find drawings of cars on the window in the condensation. My parents just thought me and my brother were kidding them and thought we were going through a phase. THen when my dad was working nights, my mum went to bed on her own and she was laying there when the bed just lifted up and shook. She was that scared she ran out the house, leaving us in it, ran to the neighbours house and phoned my dad to come home from work. All this time throught the whole time of the ghost being there, the dog sat at the bottom of the stairs whining and looking up them. And my dad thought my mum was going mad until they both went to bed and they heard a loud banging at the side of the bed, my dad said it was like someone had hold of a shoe and was bangiing it on the floor, they were that scared they couldnt move. Anyway after loads more stuff happened they decided to get in touch with the local vicar who came to bless the house. After that, the house was so warm and the dog stopped whining. We later discovered that the last owners' son committed suicide in my bedroom! It is all true and ever since then ive been mad about the paranormal.

i have also been to a medium who told me things she couldn t have guessed.I Went as a sceptic and gave her no information what so ever came out quite shakey. Also have some photos 4 days after my dad died i took some photos of my children (christmas time)when i put them on pc five of them had a very bright shapes on them one even looked like a bright light in the shape of a hand pointing at my daughters balloon i no my camera wasnt faulty as i still use it now and have had no problems with it.all these pictures were taken in different rooms not under lights or anything that could explain it may be it was my dad passing through before he went to the spirit world who knows.i done a bit of research on the web and apparently thease bright lights are called ectoplasm must say they are very strange.

The house we live in is a 300 year old farmhouse, when we first moved in lots of things happened but non of us told each other  then One of My sons  Mark , who still lives at home (he is quite reserved )anyway we had all been out for a celebration of my birthday (eek) and when we got back were all having a chat and Mark said that in the first weeks he saw a tall man wearing a cowboy hat on the landing,I laughed and said I didnt think any cowboys had lived here anyway it came to light that the someone who lived here thirty years had a passion for hats and his favourite was an american stetson hat :)
Also on the wall in our house I have a fitment which holds some tiny rare beswick dogs the walls are solid so it doesnt move one morning I got up to find one peice I really like about five feet away carefully places on the floor !
There are  so many other things that have happened too many to mention on here but I dont feel frightened now at first I wouldnt stay in the house after dark on my own now Im used to it. I feel we are never alone thats all :)

When I was very young I used to suffer terrible night terrors, nothing seem to cure me of them. Every night I'd wake my poor Mum up screaming, often 3-4 times a night. This began as a toddler. When I was about 5yrs I stopped having the night terrors and started talking away to Johnny. I knew he'd been a desert rat, he was frail but not elderly and there was something wrong with his legs. I'd sit straight up in bed with 'Johnny' my invisible friend and talk away.
It was only when I was alot older I learnt that my Grandad was my Gradma's second husband. Her first was my Dads real Dad, Johnny who'd been a desert rat serving under Montgomery. After the war he developed cancer which affected his legs so he couldn't walk. He passed away when my Dad was just 10yrs old. Apparently he was quite strict with my Dad, but very caring of his daughters.
It could be as a child I'd picked things up from conversation but I truly don't believe that. I just knew far too much detail etc but who knows...

I have dabbled with ouja boards but find it abit scarey. I prefer gaining insight using a Vedic astrology birth chart, disecting past, present & future. The gentleman who prepared it for me is such a well travelled spiritual man he is fascinating. He knew so many facts about me and my life, I couldn't doubt his ability at all.

my son when about 3-5yrs used to say 'when I was older I used to do ........'  & say things his uncle used to do.

His uncle died in a car crash 11 months before my son was born & even now you have to look twice at photos to work out which one it is.

We checked everything out & they were all correct

He also told me that my gran waved to him (she died yrs ago) uncanny it would of been her birthday that day & she would of been 100!

He grew out of it about 5yrs old but it still freeks me (& the rest of the family out)

Here is a strange thing as mentioned in my other post we live in an old farmhouse.
About a week ago  and in the day time I was walking from the kitchen to the front room as I walked through the door I ducked down as if something was above me and to save banging my head,I felt a bit shocked I said to Sam my husband the strangest thing happened and told him.
the other day our garden had some debris in it so the upshot of it the septic tank needed emptying but noone knew where  the top was so a man called up to show us  and he was chatting to Sam he said I used to live here a long time ago, he said the door frames were so low we had to duck going through them ( the man wasnt all that tall) when Sam told me I was quite amazed and shocked.
Maybe that was why I had the instict to duck but the door frames are all proper height now.and I never knew that the door frames had been changed
Anyone any ideas about why this happened?

Mattie maybe your Psychic. I have had a few experiences myself,
with me its being going on for years. The people experiences have really frightened me in the past, I dont think the spirits mean to frighten me its just the whole experience that does.
Two weeks ago I felted/senced that a small smooth haired dog walked up to me and sat curled up beside me on the floor next to my feet. It didnt frightened me at all, it was someones pet dog.
Also the same week I felted /senced a large tabby cat bigger than a moggy stalking something on our settee, again I wasnt scared.

I know someone who is training to be a Psychic, she said if you want to stop these things happening then tell them, I sat in my bedroom and told them to stop touching me and to stop moving things, and they have.

Has anyone ever been to see a Psychic ?
- By rose [au] Date 13.03.05 11:38 UTC
Tricolours, how can somebody train to be a psychic? I've always thought it is a gift you are born with :)
- By Tricolours [gb] Date 13.03.05 13:30 UTC
Rose - apprently you can learn how to be a psychic, other psychics teach you.
Have you ever watched Colin Fry on TV he is a teacher.
There was a programme on TV about people training to be a psychic with Colin Fry and another man, I cannt remember his name.

Mind you you want get me doing it, I dont want to have any more experiences.

The school I went to was a big old house. One evening after rehersals for a play 2 friends and I were last in the attic, where we were not normally allowed. All of a sudden we all at the same instance felt that there was someone else there with us. Needless to say we legged it all the way to the bus stop.

Also when I was in my teens I was really in to ghost stories and had just finished reading for the night, settled down with the lights out when one book from a row of 6 feet flew off the shelf landing about 4 feet away. I dont think I touched any of the stairs on the way down to see Mum & Dad!

Havnt seen anything lately though so maybe Ive grown out of it.

I have plenty of unexplained experiences in our house, we live in a town house that used to be bedsits, so you can imagine when we moved in it wanted gutting, this was 10 yrs ago almost now and we're still working on it!  One of those it'll be nice when it's finished houses!  These occurences only seem to happen when my husband is doing DIY, not just decorating I mean knocking walls down or major stuff.  First experience was the TV Remote went missing, looked everywhere nowhere to be seen, ok assumed god knows how but it was lost.  Hubby had the settee literally upside down but nothing, went out bought one of those 4 in 1 things all ok, little girl was only about 2 and bathroom was upstairs so went and bathed her carried her down and there on the arm of the settee was the remote control!  Nobody else was in the house!  Hubby was in the bathroom once decorating when the ball from the side of the bath (kids toy) threw itself alone a 16ft  bathroom, he turned around to blame youngest child for throwing but nobody there, son was in daughters bedroom and was looking in her electronic diary which was on her fireplace in her cookery basket and her chair threw itself across the room, boy did son move quick and come down looking as though he'd seen a ghost! teach him for snooping won't it!  lots of other unexplained things, just note one more briefly I bought a new lacy cardigan (crocheted) for holiday cost a lot of money from a nice shop, left the tags on everything went to pack it and it had gone, again looked everywhere, nowhere to be seen but I knew I'd brought it home as tried it on to show hubby, again went on holiday without it, came home couple of months later opened my wardrobe door and yes there is the top hanging up with tags everything as though it'd been there all the time.  there is lots more too numerous to say but all I know is until I moved there I would have said 'never' now I say 'maybe'!
as I can't explain any of the above or the rest what happens in this house!

My house is haunted and seeing as my grandparents got it when it was new I am sure it must be a dead family member coming to see us. We have had floating fruit bowls, the bowls never get broken in fact they are always placed on the floor very gently. On mothers day the cards that my kids got me started dancing across the mantle piece. My oldest son was about 7 when he came to wake up his dad and was amazed to see me in the bed as he had just seen me fully dressed down stairs, I am supposedly the spitting image of my grandma that died so I think he must of seen her. The latest thing has ben the whole family can smell pipe tobbaco in the house abd nobody smokes , my great-uncle used to smoke a pipe and he lived in my house until he died 8 years ago. I don't find this too freaky as I think it is my family doing it if I did not think that it would probably scare me witless.

its the living you have to be scared of not the dead thats what my mother used to tell me.
