Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / dog harness

last week i got a stop - pull harness for my dog.  the instructions are not very clear, should a harness be loose or snug?  it has comfort pads on to stop chafing, but i noticed under his arms are a little red, any advice on fitting would be appreciated.  Thank you

Hi Guest,

I'll start by explaining I have NO personal experience with this item but would say that if there is redness under his arms it's not a good fit - sorry to state what you obviously already know and are trying best to establish whether it lacks room or is too slack :(  Are there no manufacturer contact details on the packaging or if you don't still have it could you revisit the purchase point and check it out?  If you know the exact name of the harness you could "google" it and possibly find a web page with further instructions on use, desired fit and how to measure, FAQ pages etc .

Sorry I can't be of more help but I think you should definitely chase up advice specific to the harness you are using because if your boy's in discomfort you could find existing pulling problems worsening and other problems arising too.

Good luck, Teri :)
