I want to buy two baby female whippet pups.
Small with lots of colour. Healthy and fit to travel to canada to live with family that already has two whippets. Registered purebred. I would like advice on flying pups to canada. We love the breed and will give references if needed.
Please write to me Sally Forseth in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.
Thank you for letting me put the request on here.

Hi Sally
I hope you don't mind me asking but is there a particular reason why you have to buy the puppies in the UK? Perhaps whippets are difficult to get hold of in Canada.
If you purchase young puppies then you won't really know how big they are going to end up, although female whippets are never going to turn into huge dogs in any case.
For export information you can contact DEFRA who will have the relevant information. The puppies will need an export certificate stating that they are healthy and fit to travel. Regulations differ from country to country but most countries require proof of vaccination, tick and tapeworm treatment and the pups will need to be microchipped. You will need to check with the airline for travel requirements.
I don't mean to speak out of turn, but please bear in mind that a long flight would be very stressful for any dog, and particularly for young pups. If there is any way to purchase the pups in Canada, I would advise this course of action.
