Topic Dog Boards / General / Overprotective with Pug Puppy????

We got our pug 2 weeks ago and she is adorable.  But I seem to be very overprotective about her.  While me and my husband is at work (I work part time) she is at my mother in law's, which is fine but we have trained her so well that she does all her mess on the paper.

Last Thursday when we picked her up she seemed to be "peeing" alot and especially on the carpet, this she has never done in our house.  I just thought that it was a mistake that she had made and thought nothing off it.  When we got home she did it in our house on the carpet, I was begining to get worried that my mother in law is not training her as well.

Anyway to cut a long story short, we was up with her every 2 hours Thursday night and noticed that she had blood in her urine, immediately I thought she had an infection and where could she had got this!!!! So on Friday morning she was taken to the vets who confirmed our minds that she had a water infection (cystitis).  I was so releived that it was that and nothing serious as she has not had her second injection yet (this week) and I am still worried that she can pick up things being so tiny.

She has gone to my mother in law's today and I am worrying about her like mad, I feel that I need to be with her all the time, and I dont want my mother in law to have her, my husband says that she is in good hands, but I wonder sometimes if she is.

Am I being overprotective of my pug??

Any ideas on how not to be overprotective of her.

Sal
