When I walk my 2 year old boxer Roxy at the field she behaves perfectly when I walk alone. She pretty much ignores other dogs unless they come over to her and she just runs round quite happily. The problem is that when I walk with my friend who has a border collie Rhia she seems to be obsessed with her. She is constantly barking at her to play and only stops if Rhia runs off with her or i put her on her lead. When we meet into other dogs Roxy just barks constantly in Rhia's face until she comes away from the other dogs. This is really becoming a problem as I am constantly putting Roxy on her lead and it is embarrassing as she looks and sounds like a right thug to which she is not. Has anyone got any suggestions as I want to continue walking with my friend as it is a daily ritual between us but I do not know how much longer I can put up with it. One thing that does stop her is if she has a ball or toy in her mouth but she gets bored with this after a while and normally ends up dropping and losing it.
