My friends Staff is now on day 51 and getting big teats large etc. About a week ago while the dog was on her bed when she went up she found the bitch had peed on her bed. There was quite a lot of it and had gone through to the mattress. It seemed clear but has left a yellowish stain. My friend thought that maybe she had held on till the last minute but couldnt hold it because of the pressure on her bladder from the pregnancy. She is usually a very clean bitch but does hold on till the last minute and has to be pushed out at night or will hold on till morning but has never wet before. Anyway this morning my friend woke up and the bitch was on her bed as usual. She went down to make a cup of tea and when she returned the bitch had peed on the bed again. She was still lying on the bed but was licking the stain. It was not as big as before but still went through to the mattress. She is now worried that it may not be wee but maybe her waters are leaking. I had a look in the book of the Bitch but couldnt find anything on this in there.  I thought of pyometra but the liquid was not bloodstained or thick. It smelled strange but not offensive. Has this happened to anyone else or does anybody know what it could be if not urine.

Day 51 is too early for her waters, if you are worried take her to the vet, she may just have a water infection which may need anti-biotics..........they do tend to pee more when pregnant and not hang on as long as normal, in the last couple of weeks we have lots of accidents which don't normally happen!

Take her to the vet get her checked, it will put your mind at ease!
