how many meals should my 9 week old staff be on she was on dry food at 6 weeks ive tried her on 3 meals and she seems ok as when she was on 4 she dident seem bothered about her food and she pooed a lot im giving her 50 grams of dry food per meal any comment would be appreciated thanks karen

Sounds about rigth though my pups at 9 weeks would be on 200g a day (but they are a bigger breed being 20kg as adults) use the pups condition as a guide, if the ribs start shwoing then increase the food, if you can't see the ribs at all then she has too much, and also the amount will increase for the next few weeks, then stabilise and then at about 9 months or so slowly decrease again to fall in line with an adults feedign requirements.

Some pups are ready for three meals sooner than others, the fact she isn't intrested in 4 meals, makes me think she is ready and also the amount seems right, as overfeeding will often cause more poing as the ood just goes right through.
