I have a black lab...about one and a half years old. Recently...her eyes started to "bug-out" of her head. It seems as though she is lifting her "eye-brows" excessively, exposing much of the white part of her eyes.
What might cause this...anyone know???

Could be a great number of things, including a hormonal problem like thyroid prob, only way to know for sure it to visit your vet,
best of luck,
Carol :)

I would get to the vet's straight away. Possibly a canine Ophthalmologist to. If it is an eye problem it could be very serious. Are the white's of the eyes inflamed at all?

It doesn't seem to be inflamed at all...I just took her to the vet Last thursday and he said she looked extremely healthy...perhaps I should take her again and have them look at her eyes specifically??
I also just recently got a new puppy about two weeks ago...could it perhaps be anxiety or stress related?

Unfortunately, your choice of words, although colourful is not exactly technical. ;) I take "Bugged Out Eyes" to mean swollen, enlarged, "Popeyed" kind of appearance?
This made me think in terms of Glaucoma. Not a condition Labradors are prone to but dogs do sometimes get unusual problems. The fact that they are not inflamed I would say "Almost" rules that out.
Is it the eye or is it the eye lids? A dog cannot make their eyes stand out any more then we can (Without there being an underlying problem) but they are capable of expression in the same way muscles can pull our faces into frowns and smiles. "Loose eyes" Eyelids drooping away from the eye can occur and is a problem which, if it is too bad could have to be surgically corrected.
