Hello everybody. I have a 3 year old Sheltie. When I manage to get under his fur right down to his skin it has recently become very flakey. It was fine a couple of weeks ago. He is scratching more which might be loosening the skin. He had fleas 2 months ago although he was being treated with Frontline and I have monitored the situation very closely. He has been flea clear for about 7 weeks. I give him a cod liver oil tablet and a garlic tablet everyday as that was the advice of the breeder when I contacted them about how dry his hair was. Any ideas, thoughts or advice would be gratefully received.

Thanks

David

What are feeding him?

Are you supplementing with salmon oil and vitE? Both of these help with dry, dandruffy skin.

A little more info. re feeding etc. would help. Most anything skin and coat related can be traced back to the diet :)

Hi, I'm feeding him on Hills Science Plan. I had been mixing with some Natural Choice Chicken until 4 months ago but heard some bad info. about Natural Choice. He is now on Hill's only. That's all he's ever been on.
