I was interested in beginning to breed my weimaraner. He is a 15 month old silver grey male, AKC registered. I would like some information on how to get started and when is the best age to breed him.

etiquette for advertising stud dogs may be different in the US but here experienced breeders with quality bitches select dogs most suited to their bitches by researching pedigrees, studying lines, observing the sire and any previous progeny at shows (whether conformation, working etc) and the bitch owners approach potential stud dog owners - not the other way around ;)

Additionally, the first post under the heading of "Breeding" on this forum gives an excellent insight into the many responsibilities of the stud dog owner - it is not something to be entered into lightly, even if you are fortunate enough to be requested for your dog's services.
