HI there,
I am looking for advice on kenneling my dog. He is a lab and is 10 months old.
i am wishing to get him used to kennels just now prior to going on holiday in may and am wondering if this is an ok age for him to be put into kennels. i am looking to put him in for an afternoon initially, followed by a day, overnight, etc, prior to giving him the full fortnight.
I live on the southside of Glasgow and am considering using the Levernbank Kennels in waterside. Does anyone have any experience of these kennels, or can anyone recommend a kennel around this area?
Thanking you all in advance
Barry
I worked in a boarding/breeding kennels for 6 years and we found that encouraging the owner to come and have a look at the kennels and chat with us was a great help. Then you can get a feeling for the kennels and the staff, explain what you expect from them and they can tell you what they can do for you. I do think that if you are concerned, then putting the dog for one night or for a weekend is a good idea. You will then have the confidence that your dog has settled ok and the dog will know what to expect when you leave him for your holiday. Most kennel owners are happy to help you out as much as they can.
I found that the youngsters have a great time as it's all new and a bit of an adventure, also when they're young and cute, they do get alot of cuddles!!
