Hi, I am thinking about breeding my Westie bitch for the first time and as i want to be well prepared, i would like to know how much it can cost for a cesarean, just in case she needs one when the time comes as i want to have the funds ready! Does anyone know? Thanks.

The best person to ask is your vet, as costs vary.

Hi Guest,

The cost of section varies enormously depending on the area of the country and whether or not it is out of hours   I've heard stories of anything from £150 to almost £1,000

There are many, many things to learn before having a litter and costs don't rate that highly among them compared to the health issues for your bitch.  Hopefully you have already armed yourself with "The Book of the Bitch" which is a bible for anyone contemplating a litter.  If not it's available on-line from Amazon.

Good luck,
Regards, Teri :)
