Hi i wonder if anyone can help. I have a beautiful westie bitch six years old. Yesterday she suffered strange spasms in her lower amdomon around midnight as we became worried they seemed to die off and she went to sleep ok. Today seemed bright but has lost apetite and is slow and sluggish. Spasms have stopped. She is eating, drinking and toileting ok. Plan to go to vets tomorrow but want some info. I have heard of phantom pregnancys, but phantom labours?! not possible that she is pregnant, has not been spayed. Any ideas? Also it started after being out in the snow for ten minutes? severe shivering!?
It is possible for her to have got a chill in her stomach. The vet would be the best person to see. did she eat any of the snow? I have a bitch that would clear the garden of snow if I let her ;)
When was she in season? There could be other reasons, rather than pregnancy, but if she seems ok in herself try not to worry. Easier said than done. :D

I would get her checked over by the vet could be a number if things really.
I have a westie and she is six and sometimes after she has been out in the snow she gets an upset stomach as she simply eats the stuff.
I suggest that you take her to the vets to make sure that she is OK. The first time bumble was ill like you explain we took her to the vets and he just suggested that we give her plenty of warmth near her tummy so that if she has cold in her tummy it goes away with the warmth.
Hope this helps and good luck at the vets
Sal
