HI,I HAVE A 20 MONTH OLD BEARDIE WE ARE IN AN OBEDIENCE AND DISPLAY TEAM AND DO FUN SHOWS (NOT COMPETITION) SHE LOVES IT WE TRAIN THREE TIMES A WEEK.I HAVE NOW GOT A BEARDIE PUPPY SHE IS NOW 13 WEEKS OLD  THEY HIT IT OFF IMMEDIATELY AND ARE GREAT PALS .THE PROBLEM I AM HAVING  IS ALL THE OBEDIENCE TRAINING HAS GONE OUT THE WINDOW ,I  BEGAN TRAINING THE PUPPY STRAIGHT  AWAY I NOW GO TO PUPPY CLASS AND ADVANCED CLASSES BUT THE OLDER PUPPY  HAS LOST THE PLOT SHE IS
BREAKING AND RUNNING AROUND THE STABLES RUNS TO PEOPLE TO SAY HELLO  I HAVE PUT HER ON A LONG LEAD .MY INSTRUCTORS HAVE SAID SHE IS GOING BACK A STEP BECAUSE OF THE PUPPY WHICH IS UNDERSTANDABLE I AM ASKING YOU BECAUSE YOU HAVE BEARDIES AND  SOMETIMES I FEEL THAT MY INSTRUCTORS DONT ALWAYS UNDERSTAND THE BEARDIE AS THEY HAVE GSD AND SPRINGERS I WANT TO DEAL WITH THIS CORRECTLY I WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR ADVICE.

Sounds like a typical beardie thing to me & I suggest you go back to basics for a while with training as Beardies do seem to go back to puppyhood if a new puppy joins the household, at least mine always did. It is also an attention seeking behaviour not too serious & if you can ask visitors to ignore her until she is under control ie back with you & sitting & then you treat & reward & get your visitors if possible to treat her whilst she sits & at no other time. Use a different recall command though such as "dogs name here"dont bother to correct into a straight sit in front just have her sitting & under control. She will go back to normal when the novelty of the puppy has worn off & you have more control over the younger one !

I once asked Jackie Tidmarsh(Tambora Beardies)when they grew & she laughed & said never ! :D

Don't worry too much & use a line if she ignores you but of course with a plain collar
