My dobe had her third season over the new year and 3 weeks later is having another one?

That sounds like a split season.  Was the last one rather short?  This usually happens if they didn't ovulate.

no the last one was of normal length

Are you sure it is a season - if the discharge is a brown/red colour it could be pyro.  If so get her to your vet immediately

No definitely not pyo. I took her to the vets as she was licking lots at her genitals. the vet said to keep an eye out for pyo. A week later she started bleeding so I took her back to the vet.He then thought it was an ovary problem rather than a uterine one and put her on antibiotics. She continued to bleed and I only realised that it was another full season when my male dog was beside himself trying to get near her. I worked out that the bleeding had been 12 days at this point and as he was so keen she must be ovulating. I had to put her in kennels where she is now and my male is highly frustrated.So why 2 seasons so close?
