Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / Travelling with a pregnant bitch

Hi there,
My Border Collie bitch is currently approx 3-4 weeks pregnant-recently scanned  as having 4 pups-.
We are due to compete at Crufts in the team flyball event-not with my pregnant bitch- in approx. 3 weeks time.
I'm looking for some advice from anyone who has had to travel long distances with a pregnant bitch,as we live in Scotland and it is approx 350 miles to Birmingham.

We are down to two options ,travel with her-she is under normal circumstances a very, very relaxed traveller,we travel 100's of miles competing in agility-or put her into kennels for 3-4 days.My preference is to take her with us.

I'd appreciate advice from anyone who has faced a similar situation.

This is the stage in canine pregnancy where any infections the bitch is exposed to can ahrm the pups.  If it just means travelling and staying in a hotel then fine, but if he is going to be mixing with a lot od strange dogs then it is risky.
