I am currently completing a Canine Behaviour and Psychology Course and need information on the above breeds.  Namely their similatiry in behaviour to the wolf.  Aprt from the obvoius similarities in appearance, what else makes them similar?  Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Behaviourally they are much more similar to wolf cubs than adult wolves.

Unfortunately for both breeds, the similarities are more often in the heads of prospective owners than in the dogs themselves - ie many have the romantic notion of having their own personal "wolf"
Malamutes and Huskies resemble wolves because they originally shared a common physical environment - hence coat, eye shape, tail, etc etc. Genetically however, the Siberian or Malamute are closer to the Chihouhaha (I hope I have spelt that right) or any other domestic dog breed, than they are to the wolf.

I will e-mail you privately if you would like further information.
