Topic Dog Boards / Behaviour / He didn't run away!!!!

When I first got Bailey whenever we took him out he ran away and I spent hours trying to get him back. We tried lots of times but he never listened (great at classes). Whenever we go out now he's kept on lead and goes happily never pulling but today we were up the hills nobody around so I decided to let him off. He ran away but kept at a safe distance when I called he returned and sat down ( a first) I am so pleased we had a great day and fingers crossed there will be plenty more. Do you think when they mature (he's nearly 2 now) they learn easier?

Thats brill, Its more fun being able to let a dog have a good run. It might be improving as he gets older and as he is bonding more with you. I he does well next time you take him out!
