The trouble is the guest is probably in USA where they have to be bigger and better or minaturised :(

Dont know if you are joking or not satincollie but just in case in the USA dallies have VERY tight regulations concerning height and anything I believe abovw 24" is considered a disqualifiaction.  I have got a number of USA books and none of them mention minatures because they dont exist.  Nice thought though I have been telling my husband for years that we ought to try breeding them.

Unfortunately it was only slightly tongue in cheek Here they dont all stick to breed standards :(

The US standard allows for bitches of 19", so they're nearly miniaturised anyway!

Recently I had the misfortune to run into a 'dog expert' [you know, the knowing type who is never seen with a dog] who took one look at my Dobermann and said "I've got Miniature Pinschers at home, they're the ancestors of your dog, the Germans took Miniature Pinschers and crossed a terrier into them to get the Dobermann !!"

Well its cheered me up in a otherwise boring and freezing cold half term.

Never realised that 19" was the size in USA and they tell me my girls are small! Perhaps I should consider emigrating - hehe!
