Some of our family members are allergic to cats which will lead to dogs. Is there any type of shnauzer that you would recommend us having, as we are looking for a pet right now.

It does not always follow that if you are allergic to cats, you are allergic to dogs - I'm not :)

It's more common to be allergic to cat dander than dog dander.  Have you been allergy tested, if not I would if I were you to find out whether you are allergic to dog dander or not.

My husband cannot even enter a room where a cat has been without itching and runny, sore eyes  but he has no problem with any dog we have owned or met,he plays with numerous dogs belonging to friends and grooms our border collie often no problems at all.

Agreed my husband is exremely allergic to cats and also labrador hair ( no idea why on that one) yet he lived with 4 dallies who constantly shed and two jack russells.

I believe Schnauzers are all non shedding I know the minis are as I am hoping to get one but the larger ones not sure but I would assume they are the same.
