Topic Other Boards / Foo / Citroen AX- Are you a Citroen mechanic
- By Wirelincs [gb] Date 12.02.05 11:40 UTC
My son has just passed his test and bought a 1992 Citroen AX. It has a full Citroen service history. On checking the manual it states that at the 48, ooo mile service the Cam belt wil be replaced on the BX, ZX, XM and C15 but no mention of the AX.I am trying to establish if the AX Cam belt will have been routinely changed and at what mileage. If I cant establish this we will get it changed anyway as a precaution. Does anyone know when it may have been routinely changed on a Citroen service?
Thanks
Diane

Sorry, no car advice Diane but tell Ross well done from me, it's a great feeling when you've passed your driving test-and quite a relief too!!!
There'll be no stopping him now :D
Sorry I couldn't be of  help :)

OH (who is a mechanic) says cam belts should be changed at least every 60-72 000 miles or 72 months whatever comes first! He would recommend you get it changed if it has not yet been done. He would recommend you get it changed anyway due to new drivers being harder on the acceleration etc ;) HTH
