Please could anyone give us some advice on choosing a Labrador puppy. We wanted a large dog, what should we look for?
Are there any other things we should look out for?

Thank you

One thing to look for are that BOTH parents have been hip scored (total score less than 15) and eye tested clear and you should be able to see the paperwork. That goes for any size lab. :D

this is all good sound true advice and deffinetly make sure they are both hip scored/eye tested

but also you want to see both parents for temprement which is also a key factor when it comes to labradors
i have two and both parents are 100% fantastic temprement and so need to be if around young children
i bought both of mine for temprement as well as hip and eye scoring in the parents

dont be fooled by anyone who says
well the puppies grandparents are hip/eye scored so they will be fine
i had this one pulled on me and it is not the case

make sure its the puppies parents that have been tested
and of course all the paper work is in order
if you are not to sure what you are looking for take some one with you who does
who knows!!!!!!!!!!! whats what!!!! with the pedigree papers ect ect

good luck and happy hunting let us know how you get on
