im slightly confused as to feed raw eggs to my bullmastiff web sites ,books and breeders say no raw eggs but going through some posts ive found a lot of people feed raw although none seem to be bullmastiff owners.some advice needed as to why not raw eggs please.

My dogs have a raw egg every week without any problem - have done for years. I crack the egg over their dinner and throw the shell in as well :)

Not bull mastiffs - but wouldn't have thought that the breed matters
I also feed raw eggs to my lot-shell included. :)
hi,
Im the proud owner of 3 bullies and i have given raw eggs and shell before(when i make them a rice pudding)
In fairness though i have started doing them egg on toast instead as a treat,as they really seem to enjoy it.
I personally think its fine to give them it raw(do you mix it with anything?) but its personal preference.
I feed BARF(completely raw anyway) so it doesnt worry me!
Alot of other people i know give raw eggs too,but if it does worry you, try egg on toast instead!

I also feed raw eggs. I think I remeber reading somewhere that dogs are a lot more resistant to salmonella anyway so it's unlikely to cause any problems

I have 2 bullmastiff's,like i said in the other post they get raw eggs regularly,so do my small dogs, TS. I have never had a problem or heard of one.
Considering the gross stuff they nose around at,at the park, fresh raw eggs are the least of my worries ;)
If you are that worried you could lightly poach them, but you dont have to,aslong your dogs immune system is up to par he can fight off much worse things than salmonella :)

My Spanish love their raw eggs but only Lastar will eat the shell too :d
