My Bordeux bitch had been with their insurane since she was born.I just kept going with the one that the breeder had done as a pup.It went up a little each year as expected but last Septenber when I got the reminder  that it was due  it had gone from approx £ 150.00 to £468.00, so I phoned them to ask if it was a missprint, I was told NO, if I wanted to keep her with them that is what it would be, when asked why I was told that it was her age and my post code. I had her to the vet for minor things and never had a claim on it, so I told them to st*** the insurance and I would go else where, then they told me that anything that she had ever seen a vet about would not be covered by any other company, has any one else found this with the Kennel Club?

It is standard that an insurance company will exclude any condition existing before they cover the dog.

You have to give details of any previous visits to the vet when you apply.

It is sometimes possible to  get this excusion ommitted if it was for minor things that are not likely to re occur.
Try contacting VIP insurance- google will give you the website- they will advise on the best option for you.

It was the huge jump in premiums that really made me MAD

That;'s interesting, my dog has been insured with the KC for the last 2 years, it's coming up for renewal soon and if that is the price then I too will be changing.
