hi, we would like to breed from our beautiful 2 year old blue bitch and would like some advice. are  there any books to help us decide if breeding is suitable for us, we want as much knowledge as possible before we go ahead , she will come into season late summer so need to get as much info before then. thanks

Hi Guest, the breeder of your bitch is the best person to advise on her suitability for breeding, and which stud would be best. You should however make arrangements to have her hip scored at your earliest convenience. Contact the breed clubs for details of whatever else is neccessary, and to find out what the breed mean hip score is. She should not be bred from if her result is much above average. Hips are scored separately for left and right, from 0 to 53, so scores will appear like this. 6/8 or 4/5 or something similar. The best score is 0/0 and the worst 53/53.
