Hi all.
Well everything that could have gone wrong has!
The breeder who was supposed to have been down to see us yesterday at midday phoned us this morning to say they drove down, didnt like the look of the area and thanked us for being concerned about them!
Not even an apology that we were really worried that she'd had an accident, that we'd been in the house all day etc.
Phoned the gold ret secretary who is raising this at their meeting next week.
We don't mind whatsoever that the breeder didnt give us the dog (it turns out tho that she had always been considering keeping him herself) it is her right and we respect a breeder for saying no for whatever reasoneven if we dont agree but to treat us in this way and not even understand that the worry she put us thru is just disgusting.
Anyway rant over. Just wanted to let you know that it fell thru.
Better luck next time.! I'm just glad that the secretary is also annoyed at this and is bringing it to light!
There is no excuse for that - you are right it was just plain bad manners. If they decided when they got there they weren't happy then there was no reason not to either call and tell you in person about the puppy or at the very least ring on the way back so that you were not waiting and wondering all day. I can understand why you are annoyed - some people don't seem to consider other people's time worth anything - but I bet would be furious if they were treated the same way.
Good luck for the future.
Janet
Thanks for that Janet.
I'm really glad that Mrs Murray (the gd of scot secretary) was in on Sat night.
She eventually phoned the breeder at 10.00pm to be told that she'd decided to keep the dog. Turns out tho that Mrs Murray had given the breeders number to other people who had called her back to say the breeder wasnt sure she wanted to give the puppy away anyway but she still wanted Mrs Murray to give people her number.
It wasnt a case of like the other post where there were different points of view it was the fact that we were so worried as well as inconvienced when a phone call or even popping in (if they were in fact ever there) to say no!.
We will try again next month!
Take your time. The right puppy will be waiting for you somewhere sometime soon I am sure.
Good luck.
Janet
