Hi everyone.
my 8 months old Ruby has the bad habit of eating 'other's' poos, don't particulalry mind horse/sheep/cow, but dog's and cat's i am not particulalry happy with. (BTW this includes her own...)
she just sniffs when on the lead, but off the lead is a gulfing down job....:-(
now she has starting having diarrhea and had to take her to the vets last week because there was a bloody discharge as well...
I cannot afford to go to the vets every week to have a shot of antibiotics (£30), but I see her straining (no more blood) and having a very runny poo. sorry for the topic...the first bit is solid, afterwards is runny... then strains, but nothing comes out...
she has a complete puppie/junior feed (from the local farmer's supply - the vet said it's ok) which she does not like dry so I soak it first. she has had that for over a fortnight now. she won't eat it in the morning until after come back from a walk. I sometime mix it with some tinned food, just to give it some flavour... i also gave her yesterday one of those roasted bones (head of femour???) she keeps chewing things so thought that might keep her busy chewing that instead of my ankles/fingers/other body parts...

otherwise she's ok, she looks healthy and playful and fine!

any idea/help?

I use a water spray together with NO as a deterrent... also for jumping up/barking if anyone knocks/ grabbing flares of trousers, etc...

slightly at a loss with this poo business....

thanks for any advice.

Ditch the water spray.

The dog has probably got a mild digestive upset.  There is a lot about at the moment where they have one firm poo and the rest get increasingly runny, often with blood.   I would be inclined to consider a diet change to say Nature Diet, plus vet treatment for the runny poo, followed by probiotics if the vet gives her antibiotics.
