one of the ducks at work (dave) is normally a white duck but has recently started turning yellow, can anyone tell us why. We thought perhaps it might be their water but the water is changed daily as it does get rather mucky, so we're not sure if it is that. Any ideas?

Hmm, it could be his age....ie he is yellowing off and is going to start a moult soon. He will then be in eclipse & very vulnerable to ground predators like foxes so watch out for him!
I was going to say it could be the time of year. He could just be ready to moult.

Our ducks go yellow before moulting!
we've no idea how old he is as Patch a JR that was left behind by travellers wandered in one day with a duck in his mouth, we managed to get the duck off him only to find not a single mark was left, he was then joined by an indian runner duckling and 2 ducks that we have no idea what they are, these werent obtained by the dog but were aquired when my boss went to get food for his falcons he came back with 3 ducklings and 2 chicks as well as food for birds. The ducks at the moment are in a converted stable as there is a lot of work going on so there isnt much cahnce of a fox getting to them thankfully.
thanks
