Hi All,

I picked up my Boxer Puppy last week, and I am totally in love with her, she is very cheeky and full of life. She also loves my three year old little boy, and they are like buddies now. I can't think of life without our puppy.

People have asked me how she is doing etc, and then went on to say how Boxers are mad dogs, and I am stupid to even think of getting one, and they are really hard work, and they turn nasty with old age. I feel myself getting really angry when they say this.

I love my puppy to bits, and I am so pleased we have her, but I am rather upset to think people would say this.

I was just wondering what you all thought of the Boxer breed?

Many thanks.........

I think they are beautiful looking dogs and I love their faces. My friend has one and is totally dotty over him, just like me and my Staff. he is a handful at times for her I know but then he is only a puppy . Yes they are hard work sometimes but all dogs are but we love them and wouldnt be without them all the same. Dont listen to anyone, you give your puppy lots of love and approach each stage of his life with him with common sense and lots of patience and he will be fine

Boxers are mad...boisterous and full of themselves :D

Yes they can be hard work, but if you put in the hard work now
with training and going to pet obedience classes you WILL reap the rewards
as they grow older. As is the same with all breeds of dog.

I don't know where on earth the person got their info that they turn nasty with old age.
What a load of old rot! I had an oldie that was 10y.o. she was a poppet, never a cross word
and she was an excellent amabassador for the breed.
She adored children and they adored her.

I currently have 3 mad Boxers (I'm a glutton for punishment) and I wouldn't swap them for the
world. YES they are hard work, but they give you so much back in pleasure that you reap the
reward of sharing your life with theirs.

I love Boxers :D and I can't imagine my life without a Boxer.
There are plenty of other 'MAD' Boxers owners out there that will agree :D

Enjoy your puppy, the puppyhood passes all to quickly but they never grow up in attitude :D
Ignore the people that try to deprive you of enjoying your Boxer - They are obviously just jealous :D :D
or completely ignorant! LOL

I second that Boxacrazy. Your dogs are very lucky I would think!

I don't own Boxers but ooooooooooooooooh - Boxer puppies!!! Enjoy your baby & take the advice given above. There's always people who have such a negative attitude to anything good that happens to someone else. You should have heard what people told us when we bought an Akita. If a quarter of what they said had been true, we'd all be dead by now (savaged in an unprovoked attack) & the countryside laid waste without so much as a mouse surviving!
Just learn to feel sorry for such saddos :D

I third that :-)

Boxers are a wonderful breed, but training is a must!

Hi I live with three boxers, we had four until we lost a bitch back in October she was eight yrs old and by no means was she ever aggressive she was a darling, you take no notice of what other people tell you just enjoy your boxer baby and love her to bits and she will re pay three fold. my advice is to get her to a local training class where she will socialise with other puppies and dogs, good luck with your new baby
