I am full of a cold today.     Sore throat headache and running nose:(        What do you take for your colds.....any ideas?    If I could chop my head off I would feel fine:D

I've discovered Enchinea (spelling?) cold tablet which contain liquorice and they worked a treat with my daughter.

Might be meaning Echinacea.

I usually take Lemsip Powercaps.  Not sure if they actually help, but stops OH moaning at me to take something!  :rolleyes:

I've found that the Sinex inhaler (light mist) is good for clearing a blocked nose, even if it only gives you a little reprieve, as you're not supposed to use it too often.  I also use the Vicks inhaler (non liquid one) for trying to breath the rest of the time.

I'm just getting over a cold too, so you have my sympathy.  I hope you feel better soon.  :)

Do you know I swear by anti allergy tablets like piriton if I'm loaded. It's not a cure but they clear my head far quicker than any cold/flu remedy. I started taking Evening primrose/multi vitamins awhile ago and if I feel abit of a sniffle coming I take super strength vitamin c.

I read last week that sambuol which is elderberry syrup cuts cold and flu by 4 days ,they say it does work,holland and barret only sell the tablets .however you can get the syrup from good health shops.hope you are soon better.

Thanks for your replies.        My friend works in a health shop so I have asked her to get me something with echincea in it.     My hubby made me a hot toddy last night.......at least it helped me sleep:)     Didn't do my headache much good through!!!!    There is a lot of flu about here so hope that I am not going to get that:(
