Does any1 know a list of bannd breeds in the uk?
Or if american staffs are bannd?

According to Defra:

the Pit Bull Terrier
the Japanese tosa
the Dogo Argentino
the Fila Braziliero

Hi Max, the breeds currently banned in the UK under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 section 1 are the Pit Bull Terrier, the Japanese Tosa, the Dogo Argentino and the Fila Braziliero.  It is also important to remember that the Act also applies to breeds considered to be of pit bull type, which includes American Staffs.  More information on this can be found here, particularly if you read the pdf leaflet.  Hope that helps :)

Ive seen american staffs advertised all over the place, the DDA certainly hasnt done much to curb peoples enthusiasm for this gorgeous breed :-)

And as said before 99.9% of these dogs (if not all) will be staffy crosses being sold as Amstaffs to inflate the price!

DEFRA even make the point of telling those reading its information to beware of "breeders" passing off cross breeds and other breeds as AmStaffs, amongst others.. :rolleyes:
