Hi i have current got a american bulldog pup.
He likes to bite and it is geting a bit hard we have been telling him no and it has slowed down.
will it stop after his finished teething?

Hi I don't have an American Bulldog but I have had two lab puppies.  We ignored their biting, discouraged it by keeping our hands out of the way and put toys in their mouths when they played or attempted to bite our hands, etc.  Not as a game, we didn't make it like fun just a straight forward replacement - as in you can't have that but take this instead.  If saying no isn't working your puppy may be seeing that as getting attention for what it is doing.  Play down that behavour and positively encourage what you do want - chewing of its own toys etc.  It might work.  Good luck.

I agree with the last post. We have a 6 month Briard puppy who also bites. We are using the ignoring/distraction method, and it seems to be helping, but will take time. When he bites me, I just put one of his toys in his mouth and when he walks off with it, praise him!

Julia, how is Barney now, has he improved?? What did your new training club think and what have they advised to do? Are you seeing any improvement? Have you changed his diet yet?
