Unfortunatley we lost our beautiful golden retriever just over a year ago to intestinal cancer at 11 years.  We now feel that we would like to have our lives turned upside down again by another hairy friend.  We were trying to locate the same breeder a Sally Garner of Beercrocombe nr Taunton - 'Somercombe', have had no joy.  We would very much like another very pale dog or two!  If anybody out there can help us out we would be very grateful to hear from you.

Contact details: Sally Burt - Telephone: 01628 624273 or email: burtsally@hotmail.com

Many thanks

Wel first off no reputable breeder is likely to let you have two pups as it really is not a good idea at all.  Theya re not trouble doubles, but squared,a dn makes training much more dificult as thye will be primarily bonded to each other rather than you.

I would try contacting a breed club to find out if they know where your breeder is now, or anytone breeding the same bloodlines.

If yu go on the Kennel Club website (just type in 'the Kennel Club' in a search engine).  On the navigation bar click on breeds, then Gundog then Golden Ret. and the breed standard will come up (have a read it will tell you what a breeder should be striving to produce), and at thebottom is a list of breed clubs.

Hope you find your breeder.

If not seek the clubs advice re finding a reputable breeder, they will probably have a lsit and may also be able to tell you who the ones to stay clear of are (puppy farmers) who are not as obvious as you might think.  This will save a lot of heart ache.

We are looking for another golden ret for our murphy and there are quite a few on the kennel club puppy register at the mo although its not always like this.

Like the other reply to your post i was asking last nov when murph was only 9 months and i was pretty much told strongly by others not to get another one until murph is past his kevin phase!

We then took in a rescue bitch (diff breed tho) who was just over two.

Heartbreakingly we had to return her last saturday after two months as we couldnt trust her with the dog and cats.

I would agree, even tho i didnt want to, that the extra few months we have had in murphs development has been great.  Even tho he loved Mia he saw us as the alpha's so its only now we are saving up to get another puppy.

Enjoy ur time with one first!
