Reputable breeders will have already earmarked which dogs they wish to use from what they have seen in the show ring this is the way the reputable breeding world operates. It is almost universal that it is the bitch owners that make the mating choices.  You really have no chance at all in interesting them unless you get your dog into the show ring and allow them to measure him up against what is available.

I should add that although the bitch owner make the choices if she owns an awful bitch it will usually be declined by reputable stud dog owners and this is likely to be the bitch you are offered if you seek to find a mate in this way.

Just to add to Isabels posts please read the first post in the breeding section entitled 'should I use my pet dog at stud'

You need to get his eyes tested as well if you have not done so already

Hi,

Also to add, your dog will need more than chamapions in his/her pedigreee to make it a good example of the breed im afraid. Its not that simple t2  sh.champions parents can produce average or awful pups there no gurantees.

Your best bet would perhaps try  at getting your dog shown and see how your dog compares or better still go back to your breeder of your dog and seek their advice as they if they are good sound breeders themselves will know your dogs pedigree lines and will advise hopefully whether indeed she is/he suitable for breeding.Health tests (eyes and hips which must have good results)and champions in pedigree is not enough alone.

Briony :-)
