Our Paddy was born with entropion, and we were expecting an eye op around 6 months, BUT as he has grown his eyes have straightened ? if that is the word and he looks ok now. From time to time in windy weather his eyes do droop a bit but then they go ok. Our vets says that she isnt going to touch them now.....

But I have seen the op we had a little bitch in rescue last year with it, it dosesnt look pleasant but sometimes it is the only way, and when the scars heal they look ok.

HTH.

hi

manson did have the operations on his eye which did leave them droopy, things were fine for a while and then the ulcers started...
Nice to hear some good news about your dog tho :)

Ours had entropian develop noticeably at 9months - he had the skin aroudn the eye reduced in an operation  - it was very successful, no post op problems, and I love my vet for taking such good care of him.

Our bitch had had the surgery before we had her, which was why she couldn't be shown. She's absolutely fine now, and has just passed her assessment to be a "Pat" dog. :) :) :)

I have a working cocker pup with entropian.  He had his first operation at 10 weeks when he was still very small, then another one in October.  The vet was very apologetic that he was unable to correct it first time but he was reluctant to make the eyelids too tight to allow for growth. After the second op his eye was always wet although never weepy or infected.  To cut a very long story short (happy to explain if you like) Bruce had just had his third op and we are due to have the stiches out today.  It all looks fine now.

I was very impressed with my vets knowledge on the subject.

hi

its amazing how much trust we put in our vets isnt it , we also have an understanding vet and seems to know a lot on the subject of ulcers and entropian........ manson started with cherry eye orginally and then entropian a, then ulcers and now he seems to be what do i do now :(  i know the last result would to have his eye sewn up for about three weeks i 've been told and the eye will heal itself...:)
I am pleased your little puppy is ok and long may it continue :)
Its so unfair that our little animals have to suffer like this and our manson is only 19 months old so he is still a puppy too :)

Good luck

Hi
we have Cavaliers and years ago, our first boy was forever damaging his eyes and had a few ulcers, one of which involvd his eye being swen up to aid the healing and it worked very well.

A couple of years ago my boy Toddy developed an ulcer after his booster vaccination and it was traced back to the Hepititus part of the vaccine.  It has left him with very dry eyes which need regular cleaning.  I now don't vaccinate conventionally and so far so good.
