Hi jayne
Was the dog much taller than her as I had a bit similar with little sally some years back and it was Jimmy Jazz I mated her to she was well up for it and then when we got her home she kept stretching her back legs and acted all stiff and tucked up like with belly ache but by the morning it had passed. But spoke to someone about it some time later and he said if your holding the bitch over your legs she can get a trapped nerve or the postion she has to stand for a taller dog can press more than it should and could give her some pain afterwards. And not to be crude on here but if he has five legs and she is small in that department, I seem to remember something like it my hay day and the John Wayne effect, if you follow.
But hope she is ok keep an eye on her as it could be the start of an ulcer was it a megga season? But have had them bleed a lot afterwards and worried so had them checked with the vet and they were fine. And my old girls daughter was sick on her 1st mating but then I have seen dogs throw up and pop there own anul glands. Hey and you know how they say the bitch is drawing them in so was your girl because it isnt drawing them its trying to get rid of them but only a man would come out with such a statement.
I know you already know all this but just looking for answers. Good Luck with her
hi,thanx for reply....he is slightly taller than her but not where she looked uncomfortable...shez had a quiet nights sleep (unlike me)has just had her 1st drink and seems a bit better, she is moving around slowly and is sitting cleaning herself...where as yesterday she couldnt bend at all....back at vets t time just to double check all ok, spotting blood but just norm for season,3 bitches in season here so its bit like a blood bath.....really windy here also...lol....not sure if its wind howling loud or the dog.....lol......fingers crossed all will go well....ive waited 3year for this day...have had mating planned and was so excited for this....but solong as shez ok thats all that matters to me....if i get pups then its a bonus.....thanx again for reply....jayne(oh and was jazz brother)

Ahhh so its that mating well I do hope she is ok and if she didnt seem uncomfortable during the mating that would stamp out an ulcer up her flusie. Could of even been her bladder got pressed who's to know. Dont think people realise the hell you put yourself through for these dogs of ours. Will be waiting with bated breath then for the outcome wouldnt it be nice if there was another Jimmy Jazz and about right for my girlies which will be in another 18 months or so. My girls Spit Fire and a Wildstaff girlie just in case you were wondering.
The name is related to Deangate super Filly when I was breeding ponies and not wishful thinking of a time gone by.

I have heard that some bitches actually go into shock after their first mating..........maybe this is what happened to your girl.
The bleeding (red) after is common, both my girls at the time of mating only had a pink discharge, but within a day or so, both we bleeding red like they were back in season. Both went on to have litters of 7 & 8 pups.
Good luck!

I am surprised after 40 min mating first time you went for another as in my experience a good tie at first should be fool proof

My girl had one 50 minute tie on day 13 and had 8 pups
hi all thanx for replies, the reason i planned on doing few matings was....because is her 1st litter, the dog i have brought over from holland and is staying with me,so rather than get pre mate tests done i saw no harm in doing mating few times...she is just like her dam...(slapper)her dam i mated every other day for 10 days, also i was away for a dog show and friends were looking after her,she stayed with them 3 days....i noticed she was in season the night i got her back...so not 100% sure if thatwas day 1 or poss 3...shez back to her normal self now....infact shez tormenting the dog ...bless him... other 2 bitches in season not helping lol...sfilly......yep i hope i have nice dog for you to use in the future...theres not a lot ov this breeding left...so fingers crossed....jayne
