My ms was spayed on Tuesday and seems to have cope very well. However I am a bit in doubt as to weather she can go out in the snow. She would be on the lead but is the cold on her belly going to hurt her.? Viv

the wound needs to be kept dry, so don't let her go where she might get snow on her tummy. Other than that, generally don't let her rush about, but she'll need walks.

Thanks for that, I was told the wound had to be kept dry and have bought her a little jumper for that reason, but Pete seems to think that the cold itself can get into the wound and give her a cold in her tummy, have you ever heard of this happerning. Viv

No, never! I can't see how it would be possible either! I'd ignore that personally.

I'm sure Jeangenie is correct I would not bother with the jumper either it would probably cause her some discomfort to get it on and wounds are better left exposed.

Also, the jumper would get wet and cold and soggy in the snow, therefore holding the wet against the scar.

Kizzy had her stitches out today and all has healed nicley. Thanks Viv
